Who are the top names in Silkies?

I want to buy a silkie rooster from a top notch breeder. I know Hattricks is one of the best, but who else should I look at?

I suggest that you get yourself a subscription to The Poultry Press, and then start keeping track of who is doing the winning.

Often, there are photos of the top placing birds and you can see what a breeder is taking to the shows.

I have found that the famous name breeders are usually pretty darn good, but there are always breeders just as good, who do just as much winning, who somehow don't get famous. Maybe they are not good self-promoters. Maybe it is just that they have smaller flocks and don't travel as far to shows. You have to pay attention if you want to buy top birds.
