I remember when I first got started in chickens. Always amazes that a momma bird be so aggressive if she felted the needed be for her babies. I can appreciate this shot and how calm momma is.

What type of beast is this big fluffy thing?

Caucasian Ovcharka from Ukraine and Russia. It was same or cheaper to import Overseas from established breeders in the breed as what they are charging in the US breeders. Overseas the majority of the cost is plane fare not because they not a rare breed.
