I do not know Spanish but I keep going to the Spanish thread and try to figure out what is being said? It's fun! Does anyone else do this or am i just weird?

also my serve has a Spanish translator and I tried to use it but it only translated some of what is being said on the thread.

My son majored in spanish and says that the spanish spoken by some hispanics is not proper spanish.

It's like in any country- there are various dialects and slang. Doesn't mean one is more "proper" than the other. Your son is probably referring to Castilian Spanish, spoken in Spain. There's a lot of lisping in Castilian.

I speak Spanish with influences of Ecuador, Chile, Cuba, Puerto Rico and Mexico, but anyone who speaks ANY form of Spanish can understand me and be understood by me. I dream in Spanish fairly often.

As far as the browser not translating all Spanish it most likely is a word that has no english equivalency or does not recognise the slang, who knows?
