One, or several, poor roosters who get crap all the time from the other roosters?
I have one who used to be the flock leader, he's a big barred rock mix, and all of a sudden, this year he gets kicked off his throne and is thrown into mutiny. None of the ladies want anything to do with him, and he no longer lives in the chicken coop, he hides under anything and everything he can find. I was outside a few minutes ago and I had him sitting on my lap while another rooster tried to square off with him while I had him.
I tried to talk some words of wisdom into him

I also told him he needs to step it up and fight to regain his machoness!

ME!!!! I have a black jap that runs my Delaware Roo until my poor Delaware is about ready to drop. It's especially bad in the morning when the Del. jumps off the roost first and tries to mate with a hen before the BJ flies down. The BJ is well aware of this trick and as soon as the Del tries the BJ is all over him. After the first initial beat down (more of a reminder then a fight) things calm down and the Del. knows his place and avoids the other rooster.
What's funny is when people see this, they just die laughing. It is quite histerical to see this small rooster just control a rooster that is at least 4x's his size.

Me too. My second in command slw fought for the throne and lost. Now all the roos and even the hens pick on him. He does seem to be slowly making his way back into the flock though. He hangs out on the edges instead of across the field from the rest of the chooks and is sleeping on the roost instead of hiding out in one of the nesting boxes at night. It's been about two weeks since his attempted takover an he's fine physically so we'll see how it goes. He'll get a bit of help as soon as dh and I have time to send some of his compatriots too freezer camp.

I used to. Until I gave all the others away that did all the picking on him. He had never been allowed to mate, crow, or eat in peace.
Now he has the ladies to himself, he crows, he eats just as soon as all the ladies have started (he has GREAT manners)
He loves his ladies and treats them like queens. He has turned out to be a very good roo!
