Who else is setting eggs this week ?! :D

Same, my WF eggs are still settling and getting out condensation... They've been sitting out for 3hours 10 minutes now... 9 more hours to go. *sigh*

NOTES - - Black can NEVER parent a Splash Bird, and Splash can NEVER parent a Black Bird.

Hmmmm I think I need to go to the breeder's website and see what colors the parents are. Either way, it was a really good deal for a dozen shipped eggs. I'm still excited.

Ha ha ha! I think we got our eggs from the same auction

I just set mine about half an hour ago, but I think that my digital thermometer is already on the way out! I just used it one other time. I've set up 12 eggs

4 Frizzle Standard Cochins
1 Lavender Orpingtion
2 Easter Egger
1 Lavender Ameruacana
4 Milie Fleur D'uccle

Hopefully I get something out of them! My last hatch [1st hatch] yielded a 36% success rate :/ Hopefully I get some pretty babies from this one!

That sounds about right! I didn't hit it in enough time to get a mille fleur, though. My last hatch had a 50% fertility rate (3 of 6 grew to hatching,) but that went WAY down because they hatched on the hottest day of the year, and only 1 of 3 survived even getting out of the egg. Even though mama hen did her job, it was over 103 degrees outside. I'm hoping for cooler weather for this hatch.

I even have a cheerleader for this hatch... a friend's teenage daughter, who is set to take any chicks that I decide I don't want to keep.

If anyone knows a success story of hatching WF eggs, it would really boost my spirits... So far I've seen one and without pics ... Just a post :/ from what I understand their hatch rates are POOP.

By WF you mean Whole Foods? I have a friend who hatched out a Trader Joe's fertile egg with success. She accidentally broke an egg while setting them in her incubator, and bought some TJ fertile eggs to fill the space. And it hatched. No clue what her trick was... she seemed to treat it like the others. But a low hatch rate is understandable, if they've been refrigerated.

Not for long.. but you see, whole foods fertile eggs and trader Joe's hatch rate is dramatically different. Not sure why, but to invest less than 20 dollars I guess it's worth a shot, eh ?
