i got the idea of it from a book i read a looong time ago, and in one pen i have 2 cochin roosters so i thought to put the 8 week olds in there, watch and see how it went.... well it went great, they started clucking to em like a hen and scratching around, only pecked a little if they were crowding the food dish, but nothing as bad as an angry hen... so they had them for about 2 weeks before the chicks moved on to their next stage, and a couple days ago i introduced the 3 week olds to them, it went great, now i have them switched around so i have 2 juvinile roosters, my big ameraucauna roo, and 25 or so almost now 4 week olds, one great big happy family 
ive noticed also that those chicks i introduced first to the rooster had an easier time adjusting once they went to their new respective flock...
