Are these for an Orthopedic fix? Just wondering I never have a duckling hatch with bad foot but did have a paraphlegic once which sadly we had to put down after a month of therapy.I had a duck with broken leg once and had taped it and it recouped.Something like this may have helped a lot.If someone could come up with something as simple for curled chicken toes in chick's

Hi there! I'm Nettie, the one who makes the shoes... I have been working on making shoes to fix medical problems for ducks and chickens. I made the first pair as a solution to the problem of bumble foot for my duck Ming Mei after she had surgery. I've been working on shoes (Or boots if you will) that are longer and have splints built into them. I've also tried making shoes for a duckling who had a curled up foot. I'm not sure how it turned out or if the person used the shoes all the way through, but I have been experimenting whenever someone asks me or I hear about a duck with a problem. We're even building Walkers for ducks who have leg problems. I have the walker made and am designing a reusable washable sling/diaper pouch so people with indoor immobile ducks can move around a bit. If a foot can be placed into the correct position, I can make a shoe with more support that's heavier and even has "boning" in it to make it stiff. Soon there will be a section on my webpage for individual medical needs for poultry where people can submit there duck/chicken's specific problem and we can try to make something to help. All we can do is try!
