Who has the oldest chicken?

I would love to hear about chickens living to a ripe old age. I talked to a girl about her old Australorp rooster who lived to be fifteen years old..she was sixteen, she said she had known him her whole life. Anyone else have elderly chickens???

Mine are all young. The oldest is less than 2 years old. There is a member here who has an 11 year old hen.

I have a rooster and his mate RIR they are 5 years old. They are the only 2 survivers from our first opossum attack. They freerange and live the life of riley Hopefully they will be around for awhile more.

Ours usually don't make it past 2 yrs. old because we eat them. I do have one roo that is almost 3 yrs. old.
