(1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens?
I’m brand new to chickens. My family and I purchased a mini-farm in October and after months of renovations we moved in April. Our chicks hatched in May and moved out of the basement on July 4th.

4 Frisian Gulls
2 BCM
3 Lavender Orpington
2 Isbar
1 55 Flowery
1 Blue Birchin Maran
1 Silver Queen Sylvia
3 Silver Laced Wyandotte’s
1 Rhodebar
(4) What are your favorite aspects of raising backyard chickens?
We don’t have eggs yet....but the chickens are fascinating and calming. I spend hours just sitting in the coop and observing them. It’s very relaxing.
(5) What are some of your other hobbies?
Watching other birds
Yoga
Gardening (not good at it. But I like it)
Hiking
(6) Tell us about your family, your other pets, your occupation, or anything else you'd like to share.
My husband and I have a 5 year old son. And I work in corporate American. Chickens and yoga help with balance.
(7) Bonus: How did you find BYC, how long have you known about BYC, and what made you finally join our awesome community?
Google helped me find this forum. It seems that every question I google gets answered here....so it was time to join!
