Who laid first? The Chicken or the Duck?

Who is more likely to to lay and egg frist? An 11 1/2 week old New Hampshire Chicken or a 4 1/2 month old Rouen Duck? I found an egg this morning with kind of a green slimy coat on it on the floor of my coop since I don't have my nesting boxes open for the chickens. Do I need to put my duck nesting box in the coop?
