who made this black poop?

we haven't had a predator yet. but today i found this about 50 ft from my coop and run.. any idea who did it? sorry hubby ran over it with his atv. it is larger than a cat.. but not as big as my golden retriever poo.

Hard to tell from pic. If it has alot of hair in it and deposited on a small rise( could only be a couple of inches high than surrounding area, way they mark thier truf) it is most likely a coyote. Look for tracks, they will look like a dog, only differance is ,only the two inner toe nails will hit the ground when walking, unlike a dog, where all four toe nails show up.
