Just curious. I use an APC brand battery backup on my Brinsea. I also have a couple of generators if need be. I don't know exactly how long it will run the unit in the event of a power failure, but based on past experience running other small appliances, lights, etc. of similar power usage, I would estimate it should run my incubator at least 12 hours.

I keep reading MANY posts about power failures and eggs getting chilled. Just curious how many of you are using some kind of emergency backup power?

With our daytime temps in the 90s and 100s, I haven't been tempted to buy a UPS. But I suspect that if I had an expensive incubator, I would buy one. I ruined 2 computers before I figured out that brownouts were damaging them. Since we have LGs, it wouldn't be such a hit if one was fried.

Id get me an extra car battery and a power inverter if I was going to incubate, just incase the power did go out. That way you have a power supply just for your incubator...
