I don't have pics but ... I have a 6 week old cochin pullet that came from the bantam pen. She is white with some black/grey markings on her feathers. Her breast is white but on her back and wings she has what looks like pencilling? There are markings around the edge of the feather and also in the middle - it isn't lacing anyway. What I am wondering is who her mother is. My guess is the partridge cochin hen is the mother.... The roos are a black silkie and a barred cochin roo. It has to be the barred roo is daddy but there are 2 white hens, one blue hen, and the partridge hen and I was really unsure who the mother was. I am hoping it was the partridge because she has the nicest personality of that lot (I am getting rid of the others) and if so I will probably keep the pullet too. Could someone enlighten me as to how this all works. I know that this roo has only the single gene for barring as he has a high percentage of chicks that are not barred - some pure white, some black and then this little one. THanks for your help
