Just took my scrap bucket out to feed the chickens and noticed Someone has thrown in a bunch of whole almonds and it is all mixed into the scraps-- DO I really need to pick them all out? Worried the 8 week olds may choke on them....

I don't think that they would choke on them. Their crops are pretty capable. If it is too big of a piece, they won't eat it.

I think I killed one of my chickens by tossing pistachio shells out in the slop bucket. The almonds shouldn't be a problem but the shells could be. It all depends on how they eat it and how hard the shells are. Some almonds have softer shells then others.

Now I will feed my chickens just about anything so take it for what it is worth.
