whole Sunflower seeds

is it ok for Roosters to eat whole B,O Sunflower seeds , you know with the shell on & is it ok & safe for Bantam Hens & Roosters to eat whole shell B , O Sunflower seeds?

Oops, sorry didn't see the Bantam part, mine aren't but I'm sure it wouldn't make a difference, mine have been eating whole BOSS since they were chicks.

Someone with Bantams might want to chime in though .
