I cannot contain my excitement! We bred one of our mares today and the timing "seemed" spot on. Soooooooooooooooooooooo I just thought I would share my enthusiastic rejoicing with some fellow animal lovers!

both the "mother" and "father" are very beautiful! I wonder what the baby would look like if all goes well.. hopefully he has the "leopard" spots because they are just gorgeous! You will definetly have to post pics of the baby if it works, lets hope

and what would you plan on using the foal for? just curious.. I love horses, they are truly amazing

Well it's a 50/50 shot on any type of spots and I am not denying that would be fantastic

I'm wanting an ammie friendly jumper/dressage mount. Fable is just an amazing stallion and something truly unique. I think that he complements my girl nicely and I drool just a little bit every time I think about their potential foal.

Well.....she has ovulated!

The other vet at the practice is breeding her today as my guy is out of town. That makes me a little wary but then again the whole process is nerve-wracking!

Sparrow is due to come home Monday. The vet seems very optimistic that everything went textbook. Which reminds me, if anyone in NC is looking for a large animal vet.....these guys are fantastic! http://largeanimalvet.net/

Sparrow came home yesterday. Now we start the long wait to see if she is with foal.....May 5th!

Wow! I've never seen a horse ultrasound before, and the "baby daddy" is soooo beautiful. (I know, I know the term is probably....sire?)

Anyhow, good luck and I hope she is pregnant! Both horses are so beautiful....I wonder what you'll end up with, using those two incredibly different colored horses.....
