Take a look at the 5 eggs on the top rack. So our Barred rock (small cream egg) and smoky pearl (large brown egg) have been laying for a few weeks now. We get 2 eggs every day. Yesterday and today there's been an extra egg! Who is laying now? The Wellsummer is 25 weeks. The silver laced wyandotte and the Buff orpington are 22 weeks. The EE is 20 weeks. Hmmmm.... Who is laying that medium egg on the ends?

We can eliminate the Easter Egger, since they lay blue eggs. I’m pretty sure the Welsummers lay dark brown eggs
EE lay blue, green, or a small percent lay brown. Welsummer should lay a nice darker brown with specks. But I know the first eggs aren't always indicative of final color. 🤔

'Should', but don't always.
I assume that's a double yolker?

If you're lucky, it's a small percentage......but, again, often they lay brown.

The giant one in the middle is from our Smokey pearl. The suspect ones are the medium ones on the ends with the light brown color.
