have 3 new layers. One cream legbar who’s been laying her true blues for a two weeks now. One French blue copper maran (copper eggs) and one Olive egger. Recently, someone has been laying abominations and someone has laid 2 cream/white eggs.

I am very confused, is this my Marans first egg attempt? I’m curious to know if anyone else has Blue Marans and what their first few eggs looked like vs what they look like now. Here a pic of little cream egg next to Frittata’s little blue egg.

Can you get a picture of your birds?
Sure! Sesame is the gray French Blue Copper Maran, her copper has really started to come in around her neck. The hellion is Poached, she’s Cream Legbar/Welsummer mixed which you can kind of see both in the photo that has my Legbar (Frittata) and Welsummer (Bojangles). All three pullets were bought from a breeder at 8 weeks old. Which means they’re hitting 25th weeks. I honestly didn’t expect Sesame to lay for another few weeks. I know Marans are slow growers.

Regarding the big hen eggs they are all 3 years old. The Barnvelder (Spicy) is coming out of a molt and just started laying again. Bojangles and at least one of the Cemanis are in the midst of a molt- none are laying. The Brahma (Omlette) might be starting a molt? She lays inconsistently as the top hen with no rooster, she’s also my only cream/white egg layer.
The ducks lay two big beautiful eggs (we call them BBEs) every day.
