Why are Chicks so addictive?

So we were going to buy 5 chicks to start with but the day before we were getting those five I stopped by TSC for feed and things and ended up buying 5 Production Reds to go with them so that made 10. Well I just got off the phone with a local guy and I am stopping by on the way home to get two sexlinks from him. Over the course of three weeks we went from 5 to 12. I sure am glad I made the coop extra big haha
