I have a silver and a golden. They are, well I'll just say they would be great eating they are soooo big. The golden I am sure is just broody, sitting on the nest all day long. But the silver comes out of the coop and just sits while the others ( 2 California greys and a RIR) pull all the feathers off her head! What the heck is going on? I let them out yesterday to free range it for awhile and she went out with them but after about five minutes of scratching she plopped down in the bed of lemon balm and stayed there for a couple of hours. the rest of the girls left her alone as they were busy elsewhere. Even after putting the other girls in for the evening I left her out till dusk. When I went out she had found her way back to the coop waiting for me to let her in. Her comb is bright red rose comb and her eyes are clear and her feet look great. no signs of mites and She is laying everyday.. So I am puzzled. Any thoughts?

My GLW will often have a rest. Maybe they get tired of standing up on all that weight. (No offense, girls, no, you do not need to diet and yes, you look as beautiful as the leghorns...)

Thanks for your reply, I just love them and wanted to make sure all was well :)
