Why are my friends chicken’s eggs thin? And mine thick?

Like I said my friend gave us some eggs the shells were thin and the yoke broke very easy my chicken’s eggs have thick shells and strong yokes why are they so different?

They probably are not giving their chickens the proper nutrition. Low calcium.
