Why are my roos crowing all night??

As of late,like within the last two weeks or so, my roos have been having a "crow-fest" all night long! Usually they would only strat crowing right before sunrise,like they are supposed to. Anyone have any ideas as to what their strange behavior could mean?

Do you have a heat lamp on? Mine are up and about when I have the heat lamp on....
Also, mine crow when he hear something outside.. could something be around the coop, like a coon or fox?? It's their warning, so maybe you need to look into it.
Maybe they are just arguing back and forth who the real man is!

We have had that same problem. Maybe not all night, but ours started crowing at 3am. A poultry judge told us that they hear something outside their barn and that they are letting the strangers know that this is their territory, keep out. Just a theory.

The standards I used to have would crow if ANY light shone towards their coop. Not in it, just around it or by it. It was horrible during Christmas, as we live beside the Griswalds

they would crow all night long.

Check any flood lights, neighbor lights, etc.

I thought crowing at all hours was normal, sorta. A friend of mine got rid of his roos because he was afraid of complaints from neighbors.

After he go rid of them, he received several phone calls asking why he got rid of his chickens. As it turns out they loved the sound of the roos crowing.

My roos start crowing around 4:30 every morning.... sometimes doing the day, I swear I think they are having a contest...

They pretty much crow whenever they feel like it. The sun has nothing to do with it.

We have wild chickens all around our place and they sleep up in the trees. All it takes is one of them to wake up and crow, then the one in the next yard will answer, then the one on the next block, then the one across the road. Once one starts to crow it will take 10 minutes for them to all quiet down. You can sometimes hear a far distant one from the other side of town answering back
I can normally tolerate their occasional crow, but I had this one roo living in my neighbors mango tree that would crow several times a night and get everyone going. Even my DW, hwo can normally sleep through anything wanted me to go and shoot him out of the tree, so I was out there 3 in the morning climbing a mango tree to get that SOB and rehome him on the other side of the river. Was so funny when I grabbed him he freaked and woke up his harem sleeping with him in the tree and it became a shower of chickens.

Well I use to think the yard light shining thru the coop window was the cause. But recently one of my silkie roo's was inside over night in a dog carrier in a back bedroom. He started to crow at 3am. Three crows...then quiet for maybe an hour, repeat cycle. This went on until I toted him back out to the coop...lol.

I frequently hear crowing in the wee hours of the morning (anything past midnight is considered morning..lol) but it's very different when it's coming from inside the house...lol

My roo crows whenever . There doesn't seem to be any time constraints. He always crows when I enter the coop, I guess to show me "he's the man!" It's a testosterone thing I guess!
