Why are there basically no baby chicks/started pullets in hatcheries right now?

Basically I started to have a "baby chick" fever again a few days ago and I decided to look for new chicks online. However, all of the chicks are basically sold out for the next month or so. Is this normal every year or is it caused by another reason as of right now?

It's somewhat normal for this time of year (I have never ordered chicks in the spring without a 4-6 week wait) but also increased demand due to Covid-19.

I'm kinda looking forward to the cheap 'laying hens' in a couple months.
