hi i have a flock of 12 11 hens and 1 rooster
they started laying about a month ago
they are about 6 to 7 months old

when we crack the eggs they will have a little dot in it is it because the rooster
is it ok to eat the eggs still

thanks to all help :fl:frow:)

a little dot of blood? and yes, even hens without roosters will lay eggs with a dot of blood in them.. perfectly safe.. but i always remove the blood dot.. kinda grosses me out..

If you can't post a pic, do a subject search for "meat spots". I believe that's what you are seeing. It's just an inclusion of a bit of tissue that gets swept up from the reproductive tract. Normal, not harmful to the bird or to your breakfast. If you're grossed out, simply scoop it out before cooking the egg. If you notice that you have one particular bird who is prone to throwing meat spots, and she's not a new layer, finishing a lay cycle, or coming into a new cycle, I'd put her on the short list for cull.

next time I cook eggs I will try to post a pick but thank you all have you its just a little speck and its brown it looks a little like dirt thank you every one:D
