Why are you all so noisy?

My hens are noisy for about an our or so before and after they lay their egg! I'm afraid that they'll awaken our neighbors and that our neighbors will make us give our lovely and cute hens away.

Unfortunately, it is rare to find a quite chicken -- even hens make noise and have a "egg song." Are you following the legal requirements for poultry in your area? If you are following the law then your neighbors have no power over whether or not you have chickens.

Got any neighbors with dogs? Do they bark? At least when a chicken talks, she has something worth saying!
