why aren't they laying?

We purchased some golden sex links the same day as a friend of ours and his started laying 2 weeks ago. Not really concerned about it yet, but I'm curious. Anyone have any guesses?

It will happen soon enough. Puberty hits at slightly different times with each individual bird.

I bought a pair of pekins about 7 months old she laid for the forst week then stopped for ages.
There were several contributing factors
stress of moving
leg mites
moulting
i treated the mites and when she stopped moulting she laid every day it took about a month though but now 2 months on i have 5 healthy chicks
also ensure they are getting plenty of day light too xx
