I just need to vent so please be patient with me. Today I got a bantam trio. I put them in their new home and everything was fine. About an hour later my bil comes in and says there is a problem in my Pet roos pen. I go out there and there is the trio !!!

My pet roo has very short spurs and a clipped beak (not done by me) and this little banty roo has spurs a mile long. I run in to grab the banty roo and goodness I got the poo flooged outta me. I finally got him, handed him to my bil and told him to hold him while I checked my other roo and grabbed the hens. This brilliant person lets him go and into the trees he went. I finally got him down and put him back up. I went to get the hens out of the carrier and he had let them out and up in a tree they were.

Finally everyone is where they should be and everyone was reminded not to move chickens around. Bil thought the roos would look awesome together.

I had to go back to chicken 101.

On a good note, the Silkie chicks are doing great,

You should have seen me trying to get those chickens out of the trees. My fil got his chuckles for the day. LOL And I have to admit today that it was kind of funny.

Sometimes he is. He's 31 and knows better than to put 2 roos together. My "pet" roo is an americana (if I'm correct) and the new roo is an OEGB. My pet roo is a little banged up but he is ok. I would have lost it if the other roo had killed him. I made him sit and go thru chicken 101 and read a few post from here for about a total of 3 hrs. Then he had to say that he never seen a chicken fight and how awesome they look when they are.

So there went another hour of chicken education. I showed him pics off the internet of what chickens look like after they are made to do that. He soon changed his mind about how it looks. He said he didn't know that they could do that to each other. Then he hugged me and said he was sorry that he almost caused Crinkle (my pet) to get hurt that bad. So hopefully I have educated him enough.
