Why did my chicken stop laying pink eggs?

I got 10 easter egger chickens in July of 2021. And I was lucky enough to get one that laid beautiful pink eggs. I was so excited!! They started out peach and got lighter the more she laid. But now they are not even pink and are white. Why is this happening? Is there anything I can do to get my beautiful pink eggs back?I’ve added photos so you can see the decrease in pink color.

I had a similar thing happen with my Araucana. Some colored layers tend to have the color of their eggs fade as they get older. Though, this could also be a result of a lack of protein. I noticed that when I started keeping my birds in their coop because of a bird flu outbreak, all of the eggs i got were slightly lighter than when I gave them lots of time to forage outdoors. Try feeding her lots of protein rich things (insect flavored suit, mealworms, raw egg yolk, ect.) and see if it helps.

Thank you for your input! I will try upping her protein. All my other hens eggs have not gotten any lighter. Which I thought was odd.

I have a cayuga duck that used to lay pitch black eggs, now she lays white ones, I just laugh and say that her printer ran out of ink hahaha. It's a little early for your chicken to be "running out of ink" but you never know. I agree with AraucanaMama about the protein but I, personally, would never in a million years feed a chicken raw egg (white or yolk) I made that mistake with my very first chickens and because of that experience, it can create egg eaters. If you can't collect the eggs within a very short time of lay, my advice is skip the raw egg, cooked egg is great, no problem but they know when an egg in a shell is raw and will think that they are allowed to eat their eggs. I can't explain how they know, they just do. I'm sure someone will disagree on that but I'm only stating my experience and the fact that I will never make that mistake again. Take it for what you will.

I have heard that happening with Cayuga ducks. But I hadn’t heard of a chickens eggs getting lighter where they lose their color. Thank you for letting me know about the raw egg.

Has she molted yet?

The molt can reset the "printer ink" to it's original color.

She has not molted yet. I hope that’s the case with her!
