Why do the eggs need to rest 12 hr before incubating?

Do the eggs really need to rest before incubating? I just started my bator for the first time, I have 37 eggs right now. I would like to add 2 green eggs that will be laid in the next few hrs. Can I put them directly in?

I only heard it is necessary for shipped eggs to "rest." But I'm no expert.

Shipped eggs need to rest so the air bubble goes to the top I'm pretty sure.

It is shipped eggs that need to rest. I place fresh eggs from my hens in the bator right away sometimes.
