My hen goes missing all day and then returns to the coop when it's time to roost. I've looked for her but I never find her. Any idea why she stays gone all day then comes back at night? She's about 4 years old.

strap a gopro to her! lol. Anyway it doesnt sound safe for her to do that bc there are predators everywhere like cats and snakes. I guess you could try and spy on her haha or maybe you could build an extra large enclosure for her?

Welcome to BYC!

How many birds do you have?
Do they all free range out of your sight?

Yes they are all free range. They like to sit in the trees/bushes/brush behind our house close to the coop. But it's so congested with briars and what not, I can't get back there to look for her. She's always back around 7:30 to roost though. So strange.

Don't think it's strange really.......some birds can be kind of loners and may range farther away from the others.
