why does my hen have a big bald spot?

hi everyone,

I have got one hen, her name is Annie and in the flock she is i have got 6-7 more chickens, and Annie is the only one with this big bald spot

can anyone help me?

no one else in the flock has this, and i am a little worried. we check her for any lice or mites but their aren't any.



can anyone give me any tips? is this just due to the pecking order? or the others hitting her? or is this sort of a sickness or disease?

where abouts on her body is it, it sounds like she was over threaded by a cockerel, that is what it is if it is on her back

it is on her back.


i have kept a good eye on the rooster when ever i am outside, and if i m there then he doesn't other wise as soon as she out from laying or preening.... and he is on her!

yes, that is from over treading, buy or make a saddle for her (put chicken saddle into the search bar on this site and you will get a pattern

hi all, i had the first rooster here.

but he was going to old. i had to change him. Annie still had the bald spot. after the new rooster (Alpha) ws put, within two weeks she has fully recovereed! i am sooo happy!

I have several hen with the same bald problem as Aaiska, just like her pictures, but do not have any roosters. I'm getting real concerned.

It's from being ridden by the rooster too much.

Could be lice or some predator.
Maybe tge dominant hen is plucking feathers
