hi i have a cochin roo named Esteban who ever since he started crowing has been chasing my hens out of the coop before they can eat and drink in the morning. It only happens in the morning not any other time during the day. It was actually kind of funny seeing one of my girls actually trying to sneak behind him to go into the run while i was distracting him with some leaves.

any idea why he does this?

Mine does the same thing. I feel sorry for the girls. He has 20 hens for himself. He wants to boss them and breed them as soon as they get off of the roost. I am sure the girls are annoyed ! They run like crazy to get away from him. He definetly is not a candidate for viagra !

its kind of anoying but when they come back he always lets them eat and drink, wierdest thing. they are still to young to breed so the girls probably dont even no whats happening.

I have been letting mine out first thing in am before feeding, the boys do the same thing. The girls are pretty slick, They act just like the wild quail with their girls.
