Okay, so I’m curious on knowing why this egg has brown markings. The two cleaner ones were laid in the nest and that one was in a hidden area. This isn’t the first time I have seen this. My Serama hens have laid in spots that was completely hidden and nobody would have found it because it was more in the “woods” area over my fence then they would fly back. It was only a few like two that I knew of that would do that. I was curious to see if they would lay eggs there so I checked about three weeks and thats how I figured out they laid there. Now, about a week ago I checked a new area of where they would lay eggs but this was in my yard, it didn’t have anything.. now I see that brownish egg today. I collect every day from the nests and from areas I know but haven’t seen them lay in those areas in awhile.. so didn’t check but something told me to check today. Why does the egg look like that? It’s not old.. is it like damaged? I don’t understand. I don’t think they lay it that way.. I think it turns that color? I have never seen it in my nests looking that way. ONLY when in hidden spots. Please let me know what you think.
