Why is he so mean?

Ok i have a black breasted red old english game bantam rooster he is mean as crap you cant stick your fingers in the cage?So we gave him a hen a serama hen she lays everyday what would the outcome of the two mating be?Oh and why is he so mean i guess he is just defending his new hen!

if he's mean, don't breed him... we're all trying hard to breed out the aggression and mean behavior... i guess he's an OEGB...?

One thing, is that he sees you as another rooster and he will challenge you. That what happened to my Welsummer roo................... he's gone because of that and he began to tear up my girls. You can't breed out the aggression.

If you turn your back, will he attack from behind? If so, then there isn't much you can do for him, unless you want to work with him. Though it doesn't really work... unless you do it every day. And never let him mate in front of you... that will only make him more dominant over you. Dose he have spurs?

They're such beautiful creatures... but a pain to live with!

He is still so young though he dont have spurs he went without a hen for a while maybe he will calm down.
