Dear community,

I’ve got an entry level question here:

We just got a 1 month old Muscovy duckling yesterday at a fair. This girl (we were told so; the workers told us that the pack was all female, but they weren’t sure) CHIRPS A LOT, and sometimes really loud. We bought the Muscovy duckling mainly because we heard Muscovy is supposed to be a quiet breed, and we live in a kind of near urban neighborhood(yard only 3000 sqft). We really don’t want the ducks sound to annoy our neighbors.

Is a one month old Muscovy chirping a lot something normal? Will they become less vocal when they’re older?

Thanks so much in advance!

Its sounding off for its family "WHERE ARE YOU!?"

They scream when their hungry and thirsty too

We plan to get a male duckling at a breeder's place later; however, we got this female Muscovy because we wanted a QUIET female, but we were surprised that this female is very vocal.

Our main concern now is when the Muscovy duck gets older, say, in a couple of months, will she still be as vocal as now(assume she's got a company by then)?
