hey guys! So this might be a really really stupid question but i’m very curious! so one of my chicks (4 weeks old pullets) is a very very social lady. She’s always begging to come out of the brooder anytime we are around. Every time we put our hand in the brooder she comes running to it. At first we thought it was because she was really social, but now she’s starting to peck at us (not sure if it’s just playfully or she’s angry) after we take her out she crys a little when we hold her but once we set her down on our hands or something she settles down and snuggles right up with us. When ever other chicks are out she’s always standing on things to see what they are doing. Could this be a sign she’s a rooster? Or is it to early?

My chicks run at me and think food !

Mine also always check my hand for food. I've had a couple 'nip' at me also. I read that you should use a finger to 'peck' them back. They're partly trying to establish 'pecking' order and even hens do that.
