Why is my chicken being weird?

I went to go to lock up my girls tonight and one of my hens was peeping but it was like this weird peep, the squeak peep that she does before she lays, I thought it was weird because it’s dark.

Maybe she is laying an evening egg, or, she spotted a place that seemed like a good spot to lay an egg. Sometimes my hen will "tick and click" when she discovers a good nest site, even if she doesn't have an egg right then. My rooster makes that ticking sound when his hen is getting ready to lay, as well. They are funny!
