I have one silver Wyandotte and four reds. The reds are 5 months old. They are starting to lay. It's so hot here in the south now that the heat is bothering them in not laying but not all are laying yet. Three of them are but one isnt. Anyway I have attached a picture of my hen in question. She is much bigger than all of them even my Wyandotte who is about 3 months older than the chicks. The hen also is much darker than the rest of reds she also has much bigger than the other had much more of a comb than even my wyandotte. She is also the leader or acts like they all folllw her. So my question is why is she so much bigger than the rest of them?
