Interesting.... From me? I was awfully gentle, but slow.It looks bruised.
Is it because a little blood got on it and stained it or just skin coloring..?
It was an Amber Star Cockerel. We were sent 6. It was 16 weeksWhat is the breed and age? I've never had one turn out like that, but it certainly has very colorful skin, even aside from the pink. Interesting!
Interestingly enough the others we did were not super pink like that. He was super feathered, though there was a bit of congealed blood on his neck... Maybe that got on him? I did wash him good after though.Huh, interesting. I did my first a few days ago and didn't have any pink like that. Was there a correlation of the pink skin and less feathered areas, that maybe could have been scalded? It doesn't seem like it from the pictures but that was my first guess reading it, before looking at the pictures.
I wouldn't think it's bruising. Bruising is usually all covered in funky coagulated blood, from my experience butchering other animals (not birds).
