Hello, I am new to owning chickens. We started out with three last year. They have done great, so we got 12 chicks. They have gotten to big enough to be outside. The 12 chicks are about the same size as the 3 chickens. We introduced the chicks to the chickens about two weeks ago. Two of the chickens are fine with the chicks and leave them alone, but one of the three chicken has been chasing the chicks and pecking at them. She will even chase them out of the coop. Is this normal behavior? Is there anything we should do? Thank you!

. Your hen's behavior is totally normal. In her mind, these new birds are potential competition for food, water, shelter, etc. Plus, each new bird is a potential threat to her standing in the flock. She's decided to go on the offensive and let them know on on uncertain terms she's the boss of them. Chances are they agree with her, and simply run away. She'll mellow over time, but will likely always be quick to peck them out of her way.
