Why is my Buff Brahma hen walking around with her wings spread? I haven’t seen her put them down. I just got her today.

My hens do that in the 70s, I guess having a big ol down coat makes you toasty! Is it humid where you live?

I'd imagine those feathered legs hold heat pretty well! Is she panting also? Is her poop watery? Try putting ice in her water to help her cool off. My heavier breeds seem to get hot easily.

No, it’s pretty dry here in south-central Colorado, but that makes sense. No panting, no watery poo.

Sounds like she's fine. It could also be from the stress of being in a new coop. She's so pretty! Congratulations on your new gal!
