Why should you kill your whole flock for mycoplasma?

From what I understand, wild birds can carry it and it affects 65% or more of chicken populations. It can reinfect your flock even if you don’t bring in a sick bird.

Mycoplasma doesn’t kill your chickens if you treat the symptoms and help prevent with herbs/natural antibiotics and probiotics.

What’s the point of killing your whole flock for a respiratory illness that goes away in a few days with treatment? I understand if sell eggs commercially for hatching but other wise why? I see so many people say they culled birds due to this, but I can’t understand why?
Does it affect the eggs for eating?
Thanks for your advice and knowledge in advance!

Very few people cull their flock, just the very bad ones, but you have to have a 'closed' flock after.
If you have npip, I believe you are required to cull, burn and sanitize but I'll have to check up on that.
