I'm so jealous! Our winters are TOUGH here at -30 to -40 some days. My poor broody hen has been banished to a rabbit cage in my basement. I would LOVE to let her hatch a few.

Wel,l when those call ducks start laying...... I will just have to tell you how BAD hatching is for you and you can just send those eggs to me.

Broody hens are wonderful enablers. They do it cus the nest is soo warm and babies are just too cute to resist.

Got 1 momma with 4 chicks and another sitting on eggs and another toying with the idea of sitting on eggs.

The other hens that are just laying are horrible enablers too.

They on purposefully help the broody out with more eggs.

Then there are all the tantilizing eggs on auction of those cool breeds you know you just got to have.

It is rough being an addict.
