She will just give her time. Its kind of like waiting for water to boil. The more you watch it the longer it takes.

My silkie is going on 8 months old and has not laid. Her sister is 6 months old and lays daily. It just depends when their body is ready. . Once they start to squat for you when you come near then you will know eggs will follow within a week. Some mature slower than others. Give it time. It will happen when she is ready. Hope this helps.

I actually just posted this on another thread - I have an almost three-year-old Silkie who has never laid an egg.

She is perfectly healthy and normal in every other way but nary an egg, ever.

She came to me from MPC and, as I mentioned on the other thread, I contacted them to ask if they had a theory on why she hadn't laid. I was told that in chickens, only one ovary is operational and that if there is any flaw in or problem with that ovary, the hen will not lay.

Thank you so much for your advice! I just realised that my silkie (6months old as well) has been showing signs of laying as well... I wasn't expecting her to lay for another few months because of what I've been reading. I don't care if my chickies lay at all I just want then to be happy and healthy....but my dad thinks there is no point having them if they don't lay! (But I know he wouldn't give them away ...he watches them all the time )
Thank you again :)
