why won't my chickens eat rolly polly's ?

Everytime I move something around in the run there are TONS of rolly pollys under it. I thought for sure they would love this and eat them up, they go after anything that moves! But they turn their nose up at them!

I would guess either they don't look appetizing (I think I butchered the spelling, but you get the point), or they don't know it's food.

Mine won't eat lady bugs....go figure!

I think lady bugs are bitter to birds...and I imagine that roly polies must be, too.

The lady bugs we have around here are the Chinese version, not the old fashioned ones that are indigenous. They smell bad when squashed, so it must be that they taste bad, too.
