I have two hens that are laying an egg a day and they just lay them in random spots because they are free range but go in their cage at night. Should i leave them in their cage all the time? Or leave them out all the time? Would that help!

Why would you want them to brood out in the open where a predator could pick them off in one night? Make them a nice nesting are inside their cage or house where they will feel safe and secure then leave them in there till about 9 in the morning, most ducks lay early, my Muscovy's are usually through laying by 9am. leave the eggs and most likely you'll find one sitting before long. Well they have a really nice area inside their cage and i leave them out about 8:30 every day and leave the door open and they still just randomly lay them. And the other day they laid one in there pen but it wasn't in the nesting area i made. Im going to try and leave them in their cage and not leave them out for few days and see if that helps. Thanks!

Take all the eggs you find even those outside and put them where you want them to lay them, hopefully they will take the hint.

As ML says make sure they have a 'comfort zone' in which to brood. Now some questions, do you have a drake? if so how many? how old are the ducks in question, if their younger they are likely not of the age to brood yet.

I have 3 hens and 3 drakes but one of the drakes stays with my other ducks. Im not sure exactly how old they are im thinking 2-3 years old. One started to make a nest under some stuff but she hasn't been back to the nest since then and hasnt laid any eggs in it. I did grab the eggs and i put them in the area i made for them. So hopefully that works
