Because you never know who your neighbors are.

We seem to have a regular visitor from our trail camera. Where the young are you know mama's not too far behind. We don't keep food in the run (unless you count the girls). the run is then chainlink all around and on top, on the inside of the run, it is all chicken wire to deter the raccoons from sticking an arm in, and the coop is very secure. I think we will also have a hot wire installed.

So far we haven't had a break-in. If he was bigger - he could be a carpet.

Yes - it certainly is
probably a one or two year old cub

OY! Your chickies must have LOVED that visitor! Did they make noise?

I delayed getting chickens for a few years, thinking it would attract more bears. So now I've seen racoons, coyotes, and fox and no bears LOL. Everything wants a bite of our pets!

YES, I can't count the number of times a bear has broken into a coop to steal the chicken food and then just leave all the birds behind in a tizzy!
