Why is it so hard to find a purebred hampshire sow that is due to have a litter in october. heck why is it so hard to find any dark color pig due during that time

I would imagine it's because more piglets survive when they are born in Spring or Summer than in colder weather

but 4-h pigs must be born after that time. so you would think with heat lamps and all the new tech stuff more ppl would breed those.
