The duck crew is now 6 weeks old and are a hoot as usual. Here are pics of them yesterday.

Finally he has a name! My curious nosey GWH drake has now earned his name....introducing Draccus!

My other GWH female, Lilly named in honor of our Lt Brahma we lost last year. Lilly is a lighter color than Nibblets.

Here you can see Nibblets outside the pool and Lilly in it...slightly different shades of the beautiful reddish brown color

Nibblets and a drake which has been claimed by Dances with Ducks... hopefully, we can figure out how to hook up and exchange him so he can go live with her girls in Colorado.

Lazy Ducks...will not get out of the pool, preferring to lean over instead.

I am in the process of duck house building and will get some pics soon.

Wow! They are really getting pretty. They have a lot of gold color. So, these babies had dark markings when they were younger, right? I am trying to remember. So then, mine that are light yellow are probably silver and the dark ones are gold?

CityChicker...mine were all darker than Wifezilla's as baby babies...which I was told the golden were darker babies. But

Wifezilla...I am keeping him for her so on her next trip to see family in Seattle, I can drive up there with him. No worries..he is safe here. I am about to leg band them so she can follow his progress by band color.

I am not handling the drakes as much as the girls right now...but they are friendly and eat from your hand and are sweet. I want manly men to take care of the women.

But my plan is start spending more one on one time with each duckie a little each day.

Dances ain't he just the cutest? It took me 6 weeks to come up with a name for Draccus...yours is sweet and the shy one of the bunch but loves to come right up to you for food from the hand (and he is so gentle, he has never missed and tagged my fingers) and to get the hose down. Oh he loves the spray down from the hose. He puffs his chest out and sorta throws his head back a little and just oozes satisfaction. Yesterday he actually fell over while "getting the hose down".

shocked himself too he jumped up and looked at me like I pushed him or something and then lined back up to get the hose again. hahahahaha
