Wild birds are eating chicken food

Definitely do not want wild birds dining (and pooping) where your chickens live! Avian flu and more...

We have hawk netting over our large daytime fenced chicken yard, not just to keep out the aerial predators but to keep the other wild birds out, too. (And my chickens IN - some of those girls can easily clear a 6-foot fence! I've seen several try to fly out and get bounced back by the hawk net - guess they couldn't see it. Startled, lots of flapping, but no one got hurt - or tried it again, that I've seen.)

I keep their feeder inside the smaller secure run attached to the coop - 1/2" hardware cloth covers top, floor and sides. Keeps out rodents and snakes, too. It has a pop-door to the surrounding day run that operates on a timer. But wild birds have no access to any of the chickens' spaces. Especially the huge resident flock of crows!
